Carniny Ladies were forced to recover from the worst possible start, conceding an own goal just three minutes into the match. The early setback rattled the home side, but they gradually settled and began to impose themselves on the game.

Their equaliser arrived on 27 minutes from a well‑worked corner routine. Marion Gage delivered a dangerous ball into the box, which was headed on by Chloe Manson to Aimee Nellins. Nellins nodded the ball back into the six‑yard area, where Michelle McDonald reacted quickest, rising to head home and level the score at 1–1.

Carniny carried that momentum into the second half and took the lead with a superbly constructed move. Gage set the ball back to Manson, who clipped a long pass down the right flank. Kelsie Marrable raced onto it and delivered a pinpoint cross for Courtney Herbison, who powered a header into the net to make it 2–1 to the home side.

Goal number three soon followed. Herbison turned provider this time, lifting a neat lob into the path of Rebecca Taggart, who squeezed her finish past the Tristar keeper at the near post to extend Carniny’s advantage.

Carniny continued to dominate, and their aerial strength paid off once more. Another excellent corner from Gage found McDonald, who nodded in her second of the match — and Carniny’s third headed goal of the evening — to make it 4–1.

The Ladies rounded off the scoring with their fifth and final goal late in the game. Maurisa Machuca saw her shot parried by the keeper, but Marrable reacted fastest, forcing the loose ball over the line to seal a confident and deserved 5–1 victory.

A strong second‑half performance, clinical finishing, and dominance from set pieces ensured Carniny’s win on the night, consolidating their position at the top of the league.
