Carniny 2–4 Tullycarnet

Carniny fell to a 4–2 defeat against Tullycarnet in a game that truly was one of two halves, showing plenty of character and battling spirit after the break.

The Reds made a dream start, taking the lead almost straight from kick‑off. A long ball forward was flicked on by Max, and Jake Lowry showed great composure to lob the keeper and give Carniny the perfect start.

Just five minutes later, the advantage was doubled. A mix‑up in the Tullycarnet defence allowed Ollie to pounce and make it 2–0.

Carniny continued to threaten, with Jake Lowry squaring for Ollie, who couldn’t quite connect, and Reuben striking the bar as the Reds pushed for a third. But Tullycarnet responded strongly, turning the game around before half‑time with four scrappy goals — a frustrating spell for Carniny, who know they can defend those situations better.

After the interval, Carniny reverted to their usual 3‑5‑2 formation and immediately looked more like themselves. The boys pressed high and created chances, with Max having the ball in the net only for a questionable foul on the keeper to be given. Ollie was then brought down in the box, but the referee awarded only a free kick just outside the area — Logan’s effort crashed off the post. Moments later, another corner struck the woodwork as Carniny continued to push.

The second half was full of grit and determination. Jake, Zac and Max led the midfield battle superbly, fighting for every ball and driving the team forward. Although the goals didn’t come, the response after half‑time was a huge positive.

Man of the Match: Ollie ?
Excellent throughout — took his goal brilliantly, led from the front, and never stopped working.

A disappointing result after a strong start, but the second‑half performance showed real character, determination, and togetherness. Plenty of positives to take forward. ?⚽️
