Carniny 2–2 Mossley FC
Hammer 3G – Saturday 10:30 KO

Carniny returned to Hammer 3G for a tough league test against Mossley, a side they had already faced in pre‑season and knew would arrive fired up.

The opening stages were evenly matched, with Mossley registering the first effort of the game. Carniny responded with some neat play of their own, Reuben forcing the keeper into a smart stop after a well‑worked move.

Mossley began to settle on the ball, but Carniny struck first. A resurgent Jake Lowry combined with Ollie, who calmly finished to put the boys 1–0 up. It was a tight half throughout, with Harry Tang outstanding at the back — reading danger, stepping in decisively and stopping Mossley’s advances time and again.

The second half continued in the same pattern, Harry superb once more as Carniny pushed forward. The Ollie–Jake Lowry link‑up produced the first chance of the half, but Mossley remained a threat and went close with a break down the left that drifted just wide.

Carniny had opportunities to double their lead, with Ollie and Jayden both testing the keeper, but Mossley eventually found their equaliser — reacting quickest to a loose ball and firing high into the net.

Momentum swung their way, and they took the lead with a powerful low free‑kick that found the bottom corner.

Just as it looked like Carniny were heading for their first defeat of the season, the boys showed real grit. A late scramble in the Mossley box saw Jayden Millar bundle the ball home, earning a deserved point and capping off a determined team performance.

A tough morning at the Hammer, with swirling wind playing its part. Carniny looked comfortable at the break, Mossley hit back with two well‑taken goals, but the Reds’ fight ensured they left with something to show for their efforts.
