Carniny travelled to Castledawson for a Friday night test against Moyola Park, and the boys delivered a strong, committed performance in what proved to be a highly competitive and entertaining game between two well‑matched sides.

Carniny started with real intent, showing strength and determination from the first whistle. The first big chance came when Logan whipped a dangerous free kick into the box, with Ollie just unable to convert.

The breakthrough arrived after brilliant work from Max, who slid in to win the ball high up the pitch before releasing Jack into the box. Jack kept his composure and picked out Jake Lorimer, who produced a superb top‑corner finish to put Carniny ahead.

Carniny almost doubled the lead immediately, with Jake Lowry going close and some excellent passing down the right causing Moyola problems. Reuben looked particularly strong, driving from his own half into the Moyola box and almost capping it with a stunning solo goal.

As the half wore on, the game became scrappier and Carniny lost some of their early rhythm. Moyola grew into the contest and applied pressure, but Ollie was outstanding in the thick of it — battling, breaking up play and refusing to give Moyola time on the ball.

Moyola started the second half strongly and capitalised on a defensive mistake to level the game.

Carniny responded well, with Jake Lowry again inches away from restoring the lead. At the other end, Conor produced a brilliant recovery challenge to stop a dangerous Moyola break.

The home side pushed late on, but Carniny dug deep and saw the game out to secure a deserved point.

A very positive performance from the boys — moments of excellent football, plenty of fight, and another strong team display to build on.
