Carniny Amateurs U13s made the trip to Shorts in Belfast for Game Day 4 of the SBYL and delivered a composed, disciplined performance to secure a well‑earned victory over Carryduff Colts.

The Reds started sharply, with Mason M threading a superb through ball from midfield to release Jackson cutting in from the left. He showed great composure, stepping around the goalkeeper and finishing neatly to open the scoring.

Carniny’s dominance continued, and Jackson soon doubled his tally. This time Alfie split the Carryduff defence with a clever pass into his feet, and Jackson finished from a tight angle after rounding the keeper.

Carryduff grew into the game, looking to break with pace, but Carniny’s back line — Isaac, Pacey, Alfie and later Ollie — stayed strong and organised, leaving Zayn with very little to deal with.

In midfield, Mason G, Mason M, Zak, Kelean and James H worked tirelessly to impose control. The battles were fierce, but Carniny’s attitude and intensity saw them win the majority. Oliver was a constant threat on the right wing, and his involvement led to Carniny’s third goal: after a clever move from right to left, Jackson’s powerful strike was parried, allowing James H to tap home.

Half‑time: 3–0

With Jamie introduced during the first half, Carniny began the second period confident and ready to absorb Carryduff’s expected pressure. The coaches’ message was composure on the ball, and the boys responded superbly — keeping possession, spreading play, and continuing to create chances through James H, Jackson and Zak.

Oliver, Isaac, Pacey and Jamie used the wide areas intelligently, stretching the game and keeping Carryduff chasing. With Ollie marshalling the defensive line and Zayn alert behind them, Carniny protected their clean sheet with maturity and teamwork during a tighter second half.

A strong, controlled performance from the Amateurs, capped by a well‑deserved clean sheet.

Man of the Match: Jackson — composed, front‑footed, and influential throughout.
