Carniny Amateurs U13 6–1 Bryansburn Rangers U13
Sponsored by Curragh Van Sales
Game day three in the SBYL brought a tougher early test for Carniny Amateurs, with Bryansburn Rangers pressing aggressively from the outset. The visitors’ intensity forced Carniny’s back line of James F, Alfie and Pacey into action straight away, while Mason G and Kelean battled hard in midfield to keep the game under control.
As Carniny settled, they began to match Bryansburn’s attacking intent. A sharp move down the left from Oliver earned a corner, and from the resulting delivery Mason M reacted quickest, guiding the ball home to give Carniny a deserved lead. Zak twice went close before the break, signalling that the second half was set up for a lively contest.
Half‑time: 1–0
The introductions of James H, Jackson, Ollie, Isaac and Jamie during the first half had already added energy, so the coaches kept the same lineup for the restart — and it paid off immediately. Carniny came out on the front foot and struck twice more from corners: first Ollie beat the Bryansburn keeper to a loose ball, then Isaac punished a poor clearance with a driven effort from distance to make it 3–0.
Bryansburn pulled one back, but Carniny responded superbly. Slick passing sequences opened space for Zak and Jackson, who both finished confidently to extend the lead. At the other end, Zayn delivered an excellent sweeper‑keeper performance, reading danger early and keeping Bryansburn at arm’s length throughout.
The final goal of the day was a standout moment. With Bryansburn pushed high, Zak released a perfectly timed pass on the counter, sending Oliver racing from inside the opposition half. He outpaced the defence and slotted home calmly to complete a dominant second‑half display.
Full‑time: 6–1
A strong run of performances continues for the Amateurs, with several newer players impressing on their first starts — Mason G, Mason M and Oliver — and Jamie making a positive debut. The squad is growing in depth, confidence and cohesion week by week.
