Carniny Amateurs 2013s 1–2 Moyola FC
Saturday, 9am KO – Ballymena Showgrounds 3G
A brilliant performance from the boys this morning despite a narrow 2–1 defeat to a sharp and well‑organised Moyola side. The game was evenly matched throughout, with both teams enjoying strong spells of pressure.
Carniny struck first after a superb through ball released Jake Lowry, who made no mistake with a composed finish. The boys continued to threaten, with several efforts on goal and a fantastic free‑kick from Daryl forcing an outstanding save from the Moyola keeper.
Moyola found an equaliser just before half‑time, sending the teams in level at 1–1.
The second half started in frustrating fashion as Moyola grabbed a goal within the first minute of the restart. The game became a bit flat for a spell, but Carniny settled again and began to move the ball well, creating chances at both ends in what remained a very fair and evenly contested match.
There was very little between the sides, but the boys were unlucky to come out on the wrong side of the scoreline.
Standout performances came from Seth and Harry, with Jake Lowry constantly driving forward and causing problems. Jayden Millar grew into the game brilliantly, but Karl earned today’s Man of the Match — improving every week, beating his man consistently, and showing superb work rate on and off the ball.
