U13 Carniny AYFC Dev v Doyle FC
The first half is one the coaches and players will happily move on from, but the response after the break showed real character.
In the second half the boys settled, the panic eased, and they started to play their football. They still found it difficult at times to get out of their own half, but Doyle FC looked like a side that could easily be operating three or four leagues above.
What pleased the coaches most was the reaction. The boys came out after halftime with intent, pushed forward whenever they could, and steadied the ship. Doyle managed to sneak a late goal five minutes from time, but the improvement was clear.
Standout performances came from Seth and Karl, who both worked tirelessly. Jake Lowry dropping in front of the defence in the second half made a noticeable difference. But the Man of the Match went to Conor, who was immense throughout — a real Mighty Mouse performance.
