The Amateurs travelled to Crumlin this evening to face a well‑organised and physical Linfield Girls side, determined to end their league campaign on a high.

Both teams enjoyed early spells of possession in a competitive midfield battle, but it was Carniny who carved out the first real chance. Alfie read the danger superbly with a sharp interception before releasing Isaac down the right. Isaac burst in behind the defence, only to see his effort blocked at the last moment.

At the back, the trio of Pacey, Ollie and James F were outstanding—strong in the tackle, alert to danger, and refusing to give Linfield any easy openings. In midfield, Leyton worked tirelessly, winning second balls and driving the Amateurs forward whenever possible.

Just before the break came the breakthrough. Harlow snapped into a challenge, won the ball cleanly, and immediately threaded a first‑time pass into the path of Isaac, who unleashed a thunderous strike into the roof of the net. A brilliant finish to give Carniny a deserved lead.

HT 1–0

Linfield came out strong after the restart, enjoying long spells of possession, but they found it incredibly difficult to break down a resilient Carniny defence. When they did manage to slip through, Travis was commanding—claiming crosses, clearing danger, and producing a couple of important saves to protect the lead.

Up top, Zak and James H worked selflessly, holding the ball up, relieving pressure, and pressing Linfield’s back line relentlessly. Kelean and Jackson were constant threats on the break, driving forward with pace and intent, but were crowded out before they could get shots away.

The final ten minutes demanded real grit. Every player dug deep, stayed disciplined, and showed brilliant determination to see out the game and secure a clean sheet to close the league campaign in perfect fashion.
