Carniny Amateurs take the win with last kick of the ball

Ards Rangers Colts U12s 1–2 Carniny Amateurs U12

Sponsored by Curragh Van Sales

Carniny travelled to Shorts FC in Belfast to face a strong and physical Ards side, and it was the Amateurs who started brightest. Natan, Isaac and Jackson caused early problems out wide with sharp runs and clever movement, but the final ball just wouldn’t fall.

Ards grew into the game and pushed forward, but Ollie, James F and Pacey were excellent at the back, breaking up attacks with well‑timed tackles and interceptions. Midway through the half, the hosts took the lead with a superb free‑kick from the edge of the box, leaving Travis with no chance.

Carniny responded brilliantly. Natan picked up the ball in midfield, drove past two or three players and smashed an unstoppable strike into the roof of the net to level the game. Moments later, a dangerous Pacey corner caused chaos, with James H and Jackson both forcing impressive saves from the Ards keeper.

HT 1–1
The second half followed a similar pattern, with Carniny on top. Kelean and Jack pushed forward at every opportunity, getting in behind and delivering crosses, while James H and Zak pressed relentlessly from the front.

Alfie was outstanding in midfield, winning loose balls and breaking up play. When Ards did break through, Travis produced a brilliant save to keep things level.

With time running out, James F threaded a pass through to Jack, who drove forward and won a corner. Jackson stepped up and whipped in an in‑swinger that flew straight in off the far post — the final kick of the game and the match‑winner.

FT 1–2
A fully deserved and confidence‑boosting victory, with every player working tirelessly from start to finish.
MOM: Jackson — dangerous throughout with sharp footwork, driving runs, and the decisive goal.
