Carniny Youth Girls U16 3-4 Belfast Swifts

An excellent performance wasn’t enough for Carniny today as they fell to defeat in a seven-goal thriller against Belfast Swifts.

The girls worked their socks off and produced some brilliant football, showing real quality and determination. Despite going 3-1 down, each goal against the run of play and following a few mistakes of our own, the team showed grit, character and quality on the ball to battle back and bring the game level at 3-3.

Carniny conceded again straight away after getting back on level terms, but credit to the girls, who kept fighting and pushing for an equaliser right until the final whistle. The scoreline didn’t reflect the effort and football on show, and there’s plenty to be proud of after today’s performance. ?⚫️

POTM: Ellie - Her first touch, ability on the ball and hold up play were excellent today. Very well deserved ?
