Amateurs get their first win of the season!

The Amateurs secured all 3 points in a wet morning in Belfast with a great performance all across the pitch.

The lads started strong putting instant pressure on the Ards defence. The pressure paid off early when Daniel pressed high and laid the ball off for Ollie to get the games opener. Ards started to play their way into the game but great leadership at the back from Judah and strong defending from Jonah saw the lads retain their lead.
The lads were awarded a free kick just outside the box and with a 5 man strong wall it was no problem for Daniel who struck it in the top corner beautifully. Shortly after Ollie added his second and the lads third of the game with a tap in to the bottom corner after pressuring the Ards defence.

HT 3-0

With a few changes at half time it didn't stop the lads momentum. With some great play in midfield from Robbie and Finn and some great runs down the wings from Noah and Andre. The lads were unlucky not to add to their first half tally. Ards did get a goal back near the end with a stunning strike.

A great performance by all the lads and the confidence in them growing week by week.
