Carniny Youth U12s began strongly at Brook, creating multiple early chances and playing with confidence in the opening stages. Their sharp start saw them look the more likely side to break the deadlock, but despite the pressure, the breakthrough didn’t come.

As the half progressed, St Oliver Plunkett settled and began to create opportunities of their own, forcing Carniny to defend well heading into the interval.

The second half started slowly for Carniny, and SOPFC capitalised, taking the lead before doubling it shortly afterwards. The setback sparked Carniny back into life, and the final ten minutes saw them push forward with renewed energy, but they couldn’t find the goal their efforts deserved.

A competitive performance with plenty of positives, but ultimately a frustrating result.
