Carniny Youth 2014s strengthened their push for South Belfast Youth League honours with a commanding 3–0 midweek victory over Holywood Youth at Crumlin Leisure Centre.

Facing a side who had knocked them out of the cup just three days earlier, Carniny delivered a performance full of control, resilience and quality. The opening exchanges were tense, and the Reds needed goalkeeper Jake R to stand tall with a superb save at 0–0, blocking a close‑range effort with his legs to keep the game level.

That moment proved pivotal. Soon after, Harlow split the Holywood defence with a perfectly timed pass into the right channel, sending Alex racing clear. From a tight angle, he produced a sensational finish over the advancing keeper to give Carniny the lead.

Holywood responded by striking the crossbar from distance, but Carniny showed real maturity to regain control. Their second goal came from another incisive move: Isaac threaded a clever pass through the defence, and Alex once again showed strength and composure, holding off a defender before drilling home his second of the night.

Carniny’s confidence surged, and the third goal was a moment of pure quality. James powered through midfield on a driving run and was brought down just outside the box. Up stepped Caleb, who curled a stunning free kick into the top corner to seal the points in style.

Every player contributed to a superb team display, making the Man of the Match decision incredibly difficult. The award went to Isaac, whose rugged defensive performance — alongside captain Jake W — helped keep Holywood at bay throughout.
