SBYL – Sunday 28th – Grosvenor Playing Field

Carniny U11 Amateurs 1–3 Immaculata

Carniny U11 Amateurs kicked off their SBYL fixture with a determined display against a strong Immaculata side. The first half was evenly contested, with few clear-cut chances for either team. Ollie and Evan tested the opposition with long-range efforts, while Adam in the Carniny goal remained alert to clear any danger.

Just after the restart, a lapse in concentration allowed Immaculata to break through the middle. A couple of fortunate ricochets saw the ball fall kindly for the visitors, who tucked it away to take the lead.
The setback sparked Carniny into life. Conor, James, and Ollie led an energetic press high up the pitch, and their efforts were rewarded when a goalkeeping error gifted Carniny a deserved equaliser.
As the game neared its conclusion, Carniny continued to push for a winner. However, a late free kick from Immaculata ricocheted off the inside of the post and struck Adam on the line, rolling in despite his best efforts. A final breakaway goal in the dying seconds sealed the result for the home side.

Despite the 3–1 scoreline, Carniny can take pride in their performance, showing resilience and quality throughout.

Man of the Match: Evan – for his tireless work and attacking intent.
