Carniny Amateurs 2014s produced one of their best performances of the season to beat neighbours Ballykeel 2-0 at St Malachy's College on Saturday.
Against an in-form Ballykeel side who had won their previous four South Belfast Youth League matches, the Reds got off to a flying start with a goal inside the first two minutes when Pacey was alert to fire home after Mark's cross had been spilled by the goalkeeper.
Carniny doubled their advantage eight minutes later with a brilliant individual goal from Seth who flicked the ball over one opponent's head, then glided past another defender before producing an ice-cool precision finish, virtually passing the ball into the bottom corner of the net.
Ballykeel had their best spell of the game in the 10 minutes before half-time and Carniny had to defend stubbornly to maintain their two-goal lead at the break.
With players on both sides tiring on a big pitch in very warm conditions, Carniny knew they would need a big performance in the second half but exceptional work-rate from the players, along with clever use of rolling substitutions to introduce fresh legs, meant the Reds managed the situation very comfortably.
Indeed they should probably have added to their total with Pacey and James C both hitting the woodwork, while Carniny also put a number of dangerous crosses across the face of goal.
Selecting a man of the match from a great team effort was a tough job but Caleb produced an exceptional all-round performance, playing in three different positions and his display also earned him words of praise from the match referee.
