Carniny got off to the worst possible start, conceding inside the opening two minutes. An intercepted pass in midfield allowed Southside to surge forward, slipping the ball to their right winger who raced through and fired a well‑struck shot into the Carniny net.

The visitors kept their composure and drew level six minutes later. Mark Logan played a clever ball wide to Aaron Johnston, who burst to the by‑line and cut it back perfectly for Jay Peacock on the edge of the box. Peacock guided a low finish into the corner beyond the reach of the Southside keeper to make it 1–1.

Southside hit back again, capitalising on slack play at the back as they cut out a pass from a goal‑kick and converted to restore their lead. They doubled their advantage shortly after when Carniny failed to clear their lines, leaving a Southside striker free to finish from close range.
3–1 to Southside at the break.

Into the second half, Southside added the final goal of the match when a shot on target took a heavy deflection off a Carniny defender, wrong‑footing the keeper and dropping into the net. Carniny pushed where they could, but the deficit proved too much to claw back.

A 4–1 win for Southside at the final whistle.
