Carniny made the perfect start when Seb Kundys took a throw‑in down the left and found Jay Peacock, who set the ball back into his path. Kundys whipped a dangerous delivery into the box, picking out Adam Mooney on the edge of the area. Mooney spun his defender brilliantly and fired a superb strike into the net to make it 1–0.
Raceview levelled soon after. Their left winger delivered a cross into the six‑yard box, and with two Raceview men left unmarked, the home side were punished with a simple tap‑in for 1–1.
Carniny responded well and retook the lead. Breaking out from defence, Matthew McComb released Aaron Johnston, who raced towards goal, turned his defender, and slotted past the keeper at the near post.
2–1 Carniny.
Three minutes before the break, Carniny extended their advantage. Kundys whipped another dangerous ball into the box, and although the keeper managed only a parry, Mark Logan reacted quickest to force the ball home from close range.
3–1 at half‑time.
Raceview came out strong after the restart and pulled one back from a free‑kick played to the edge of the Carniny box, flicked over the defence and finished well for 3–2.
They soon equalised after an unfortunate moment for Carniny, when Carson Hume headed into his own net under pressure.
3–3.
Carniny showed great character to regain the lead once more. A Mark Lowry free‑kick from the left was whipped into the danger area, skimming off a Raceview head and flying into the far corner.
4–3 Carniny.
But Raceview refused to go away. Carniny failed to clear their lines from a loose ball, and a Raceview player pounced from just inside the box to level again at 4–4.
Just as the tie looked destined for extra time, Carniny were hit with a devastating late blow. On 94 minutes, Raceview’s winger received the ball in what appeared to be an offside position, broke down the flank, and crossed for a teammate to finish from close range — the decisive moment that sent Carniny out of the Cup.
Final score: Raceview 5–4 Carnin
