In a fairly even contest, Towers looked like they could take the initiative on 83 mins when they were awarded a penalty on 83 mins, but Ross McKillop in the Carniny goal denied them after saving the resultant penalty kick.

Just when the game looked like ending in stalemate, Towers got a shot in for McKillop to parry away but one of their forwards was on hand to score from the rebound. Carniny tried to get back into the game in the remaining mins of injury but it wasn't to be.
