Carniny hit the ground running and opened the scoring after Mark Lowry’s free kick was parried by the Romania keeper, with Adam Mooney quickest to react and fire home. The lead was doubled soon after when Jake Armstrong struck from outside the box. The keeper couldn’t hold it and John Costello was on hand to bury the rebound.
Into the second half, Lowry made it 3–0 with a whipped free kick that deceived the keeper and flew straight into the net. Carniny were full of confidence now, and goal number four came when Mark Logan clipped a ball forward to Mooney, who slipped in Dean Wright. Wright unselfishly squared it to Sean Byrne to finish. Byrne then wrapped up the scoring late on — Jay Peacock dispossessed a defender, drove toward the box and slid the ball across for Byrne to tuck a low shot into the far corner.
A dominant performance from the Red Men and a fully deserved three points. ??⚫
