Carniny U14's 1 - Antrim Rovers 2
A disappointing result for the U14's in a game they should have had more from.
The boys got off to the worst possible start and found themselves 2-0 down in the first five minutes to two preventable goals. After this, Carniny came more into the game and were unlucky not to pull one back when Oliver met a cross from Brandon but the ball came back off the crossbar. Carniny were well on top and were playing good football from back to front, with Luke threading some super passes through for the front men.
The second half was more of the same with Carniny pinning Antrim back in their own half and they pulled a goal back when a lovely pass from Luke was well controlled by Brandon who took the ball in and slotted past the keeper. It was all Carniny, although Antrim had the odd break away, but, try as they might, the boys couldn't grab an equaliser. A strong team performance from all the boys with good football throughout, despite a poor start, and they deserved more from the game.
