In a close game on Saturday morning at Wakehurst the Under 14s lost 2-0 to Magherafelt Sky Blues. The boys got off to a good start and pressed Magherafelt all over the pitch. Jake and Brandon were causing problems for the Sky Blues defence and were unfortunate to have a goal disallowed for offside. At the other end Magherafelt also had a goal ruled out for offside. Both sides created good chances to score and jake was again through on goal but he shot wide. Vlad was having a good game in goal for Carniny and he made a number of good saves. Neither side could find the net and it was 0-0 at half time.

Magherafelt made a change up front at half time and within minutes it paid off as their replacement striker found the net with a low shot from inside the box. Magherafelt began to take control and added a second goal soon after. Carniny were still creating good chances on the break but neither Jake nor Brandon was able to finish. Ben and PK were having a good game in the centre of the defence. Robbie was putting in a shift as captain in the centre of midfield but despite a number of corners and other chances from open play the boys couldn’t score. The game ended 2-0 to Magherafelt. This was a better performance than the previous game with the team battling hard but failure to take chances was costly.
