Rosario 0–3 Carniny
They started brightly and were ahead early thanks to PK. After a powerful run into the box that left the full‑back behind, he drilled a low shot across goal and into the far corner. It set the tone for a confident first half, with John, Luke, Sam and Tommy combining well in midfield to create several good chances. Shots were either narrowly wide or straight at the keeper, but the build‑up play was excellent.
Rosario remained dangerous on the counter and Vlad had to produce a superb low save to his left to prevent an equaliser. At the back, Ben and Andrew were solid throughout, reading the game well and cutting out most attacks, while Ollie and Rhys linked effectively from full‑back into midfield.
Carniny doubled their lead before the break when Robbie weaved his way into the box, beating multiple defenders before finishing through the keeper’s legs. A composed finish and a deserved 2–0 half‑time advantage.
The second half was more evenly contested, with Rosario pushing forward and forcing several corners that tested the Carniny defence. At the other end, Harley and PK combined well, with Harley going close after a sharp turn and strike that just cleared the bar.
Carniny’s third came from sheer persistence. Sam chased down a backpass, pressuring the Rosario keeper, whose attempted clearance rebounded off Sam and rolled into the net. A reward for his work rate and pressure high up the pitch.
Both sides had late chances, the best of which fell to Joshua, whose well‑struck effort from the edge of the box hit the base of the post. The boys saw the game out professionally to claim a 3–0 victory.
The result keeps Carniny fourth in the table, four points behind leaders Downpatrick with a game in hand—everything still to play for.
