Missing several players through illness, Ben deputised in goal early on and produced a superb save to keep the scores level. Cubs struck first after a strong run broke through Carniny’s defence, but PK responded with two outstanding long-range strikes to give Carniny a 2–1 lead at half-time.

With the wind at their backs in the second half, Carniny pressed for a third. Vlad’s arrival allowed Ben to move into defence, and Andrew capitalised from a corner to extend the lead. The game grew tense as tempers flared, and Cubs pulled one back from a high free kick that drifted over Vlad.
