Carniny Under 15s came from behind to beat Albert Foundry 5-2 in their first league game in section five. Albert Foundry took the lead from a corner after a period of fairly even play. Foundry always looked dangerous from high balls into box as Carniny failed to challenge for the ball. Carniny pulled level following a well struck effort from inside the area by PK. However, almost right away from the kick off Foundry took the lead again when Riley spilled a shot and the Foundry striker had a simple tap in to make it 2-1 at half time.
Carniny were much better in the second half and pulled level again following a neat finish by Ben from a low, near post corner. This gave Carniny players confidence to push on. Robbie began to have more impact up front and he scored Carniny’s third goal from a good run and shot. Robbie scored again shortly after and Harley made it 5-2 with a neat finish at the back post. Carniny were deserved winners in the end but the boys need to make life easier for themselves by not giving away easy chances to opposing teams.
