Carniny U9 3-0 Shankill Juniors

The wee reds were back in SBYFL action on Friday taking on Shankill Juniors in the latest round of fixtures. The game started quite messy with the ball flying from one end to the other with no real passages of play. Both teams had chances to get the opener with Finn troubling the Shankill goalkeeper and Fletcher's handling was on top form as he caught everything thrown at him.

Carniny started to take a foothold in the game with Jay and Robbie cleaning up any loose balls in defence superbly. Ollie, Jacob and Oisín were working as hard as ever in midfield with some great link - up play with Finn and later in the half Kai to find the opener.

Half time 0-0.

Some new faces just before the half saw some pace added to the game and it was from right back Jay scored a great goal in the bottom corner to give the lads the lead. The wee reds continued to be on top with some fast pace from Harvey and Kai down the wings to trouble the Shankill defence. Jay then got his second of the game with another great strike from just outside the box. 5 minutes from time Carniny had a free kick about 15 yards out on the left hand side and a beautifully struck free kick from Kai saw the lads get their third of the game to put the tie to bed.
