Carniny U17 3-2 Aquinas
SBYL – Saturday 25th
It was a good overall performance from the 17s today away to Aquinas. The team started well, and a super pass cut open the Aquinas defence and Finnegan cut in from the right to finish well at the near post. Carniny were dominant in the midfield, but it would be Aquinas who equalised after a loose ball was fired home. The poor pitch conditions made nice flowing play difficult, but Carniny extended the lead when Turtle and Finnegan created some super pressure, and this led to Finnegan scoring again.
The Carniny forwards were creating all sorts of difficulties for our opponents and Turtles hard work up front was rewarded when he turned and wriggled past 3 defenders to slip the ball under the keeper 3-1. Aquinas pulled back a late consolation, but Carniny then created more to run out a fully deserved 3-2 winners of a good game played in good sportsmanship from both sides.
