There was a reduced fixture list for the club last weekend with small sided games still on Easter breaks and some leagues completed. The Under 14s had the opportunity to play their South Belfast Youth League Cup Final at Seaview in atrocious condition on Saturday afternoon. The Carniny boys came up against unbeaten Premier Div league champions Shankill Utd in the final and despite a gutsy performance the Belfast boys ran out winners on the day. Carniny keeper Luke Elliott was awarded Man of the Match for the final. The U15s having clinched their league title last week played out their remaining league fixture in an entertaining 2-2 draw with Bangor side Castle Juniors. The U11s played in the East Antrim Games Dev centre at the Valley on Friday night whilst two Under 10 teams enjoyed their end of season Competition day in Coleraine in the Harry Gregg Foundation Youth League. The seniors came out on top with a 4-3 win over Abbeyview whilst the Development team game was called off due to waterlogged pitch.

FOOTBALL DEVELOPMENT CENTRE

The clubs Football Development Centre for the younger members of the club fell victim to the adverse weather conditions at the weekend but will resume this Saturday 4th May at 11am at St Louis Grammar School sports grounds for what will be the final session of the season. Children at the FDC currently in class P2 onwards will be taking part shortly in the Ballymena Invitational Mini Soccer League which starts on the 18th May at Ballymena Showgrounds.

Carniny Amateur & Youth Football Development Centre is sponsored by Robinsons NISA Supermarket, Cullybackey Road, Ballymena and the centre's end of season function will be at the Adair Arms Hotel, Ballymena on Saturday 15th June, 2019 at 2pm and tickets will go on sale at this weeks FDC session.
