
ANNUAL CHARITY GAME
The club’s annual charity game will be held on Monday 29th December 2025 on 3G pitch 2 at Ballymena Showgrounds at 6.30pm between the newly formed veterans’ team and a side made up from the clubs’ coaches. An entry fee will be taken at the 'gate' with all monies raised going to local charity. All friends and supporters of the club are asked to come along and support this worthy cause. Following the game refreshments will be available at Ballymena Bowling Club for participants and spectators alike.
Many new projects and sections are being formed at the club helping to help provide Football For All in the new year regardless of age, sex or ability. Several people have been appointed or are coming back to the club to help get these projects up and running although any new people out there willing to help and should contact club secretary Billy O'Flaherty and if suitable and complete to clubs vetting process are welcome to come on board. Carniny have now been running for 25 years and have now almost 30 teams playing regular football each week.
Carniny AYFC wish their former coach Clifford Adams best wishes at his new role in charge at Belfast side Dundela FC. Clifford has had a couple of stints at the Ballymena 'reds' before moving on to Irish League positions at Carrick Rangers, Ballymena United and Portadown. Clifford never forgets where he started and regularly comes back to lend a hand.
NOVEMBER CLUB PERSON
This month’s award goes to Gary Templeton who gives of his valuable time each week to help many young folk. Gary, son of the well-known Ronnie Templeton who graced the Ballymena Saturday Morning League with several teams, has been a great friend to Robin McClintock covering for him when absent. Many thanks Gary and enjoy your prize of use of the Spa and a free lunch for two persons at Galgorm Resort & Spa.
TEAM OF THE MONTH
The McDonalds Restaurant team of the month for November goes to Corey Teagues under 6 team who play every Friday evening at the IFA Small Sided Games event at Ballymena Showgrounds. Well done Corey and well done to your fantastic 'wee' team who go from strength to strength. The kids enjoyed a free meal at the local restaurant as part of their prize. McDonalds are long term sponsors of ALL the Carniny teams, and the club appreciate their continued help.
WOMANS SECTION
A woman's adult team will be formed as the next piece of the clubs footballing jigsaw so as players can follow on from the girl’s youth teams now at the club. Mark Copeland from the club’s football development section has been speaking to several people to organise who will coach and train the senior set up and full news will be out soon so check the news reports and club social media for details. The club have applied to the NORTHERN IRELAND WOMANS F.A seeking admission.
VETERANS TEAM KICKS OFF
Former player and coach Simon Murray will take charge of the clubs new Veteran Team made up of players over 40 years of age and the first sessions started over the last couple of Saturday afternoons held in the new cage facilities up at Ballymena Showgrounds. It is hoped this project will continue every Saturday afternoon as a way of senior members keeping fit and helping their mental health.
LEARNINING DIFFICULTY SECTION
It is hoped the third new section at the club will be a team for children with a learning difficulty. Discussions are already underway to see how the club can introduce such a new section and will attempt to find staff who can take charge and how to merge into the club.
