Carniny U10 attended this annual tournament on Sat 28 may. There was a lot of very good teams taking part so Carniny had to be ready from the off.
First up for Carniny was Portadown Youth. Now Portadown were an impressive side but Carniny were very much a match for this good side. The game was excellent viewing for the bystander as it was end to end. But as the game drew near to a close Portadown nicked 2 late goals to take the points. The result did not reflect the performance Carniny put in to this game.

The next game Carniny were up against Loughgall. The game started quite slow with alot of the game being played in the middle of the park. Carniny soon found themselves trailing by 2-0 after some mistakes at the back. But Carniny did not lay down and Kieran O'Boyle pulled 1 back for Carniny and Jordan Campbell had a 20 yard shot saved which was destined for the top corner. The game finished 2-1.

The final group game Carniny were up against Castle Juniors. From the whistle Carniny were much the hungier side closing every ball down. Kieran O'Boyle slotted in the first then Dane Archer added a second. Then after some fine work from Jake Parker on the right his cross was met by Kieran O'Boyle to tap in to seal the points.

In the semi final Carniny were up against Tandragee. This game was very tough for both sides as chances were missed for both sides. So at the final whistle the game was scoreless so it came down to a dramatic penalty shoot out. Both teams were hitting fine penaltys then only for Andrew Farquhar to pull off a fine save to send Carniny into the final.
Carniny were up against Bertie Peacock in the final. This was a very interesting game as both teams played some really good football. But as the game wore on Carniny found themselves under pressure and due to this they found themselves 2-0 down. Carniny battled hard to the end but it just wasnt to be.

In the end Carniny can hold their heads high and be very proud of there hard work here today.

Panel Farquhar, Clyde, Kirk, Ervine, Parker, Archer, Campbell, Logan, O'Boyle.
