ALL TEAMS BACK TO TRAINING
All the clubs teams are now back to training in line, of course, with government guidelines including the clubs senior side who have been training for several weeks and have even been able to play a few friendly games. Senior team head coach Paul Dunlop is pleased with his players progress so far both at training and during games and has a good squad of players to choose from with an excellent back room staff of Stevie Armstrong, Sean McKeown and Gerry Heaney.
The Under 18s coached by Darren McGall and Chris Coulter will be looking forward to returning to the National League as Carniny were one of the founder members of this league. The Under 16s and 15s coached by Jimmy Gilchrist and Jordan Hayes have also been training for over a month and all seems going well with ex County coach Gilchrist although any new prospective additions would be welcome.
The Under 14s in the care of Ryan Burnett, Colin Turtle and Denver Gregg are up and organised and seem to have put together a decent squad for the new season as have the Under 13s under John Scullion who along with Barry Mawhinney, Danny McLaughlin and Peter Gregg also look after the Under 11s. Chris Shields is head coach with the Under 12s ably assisted by Will McDonald, Dale Love and James Kernohan with two teams at this age group.
Also running two teams will be Robin McClintock, Denis Weir and Gary Templeton with the Under 10s whilst Stevie Greer, Alan Tweed, Stephen Harvey and Richard Bolan have a formidable Under 9s put together. New 'kids on the block' will be the Under 8s who are up and going with Andy Bell and James Black holding the reigns. Any player wishing to attend any of the teams training session are welcome to contact any of the respective coaches listed for information of sessions.
GIRLS VERY WELCOME
Carniny A&YFC also welcome females to the club not only to play in mixed boy/girl teams but hopefully to help form an all girls team within the club. The club had girl’s teams a few years ago and are determined to get a team up and running this season. Any girls interested in playing and born in the years 2009, 2010 or 2011 should contact Billy O'Flaherty at 07850669666 for details. The club are also interested in recruiting female staff to help oversee this initiative and hope to speak to a prospective candidate this week.
LATEST TEAM FORMED WITHIN CLUB
Carniny Amateur & Youth FC have formed another new age group to hopefully compete in local youth football this season each week with children from the 2014 year group at the club, under 7s, forming at least two sides. Any young person from this age group who would wish to trial for this team should contact one of this teams coach, Gary Ward on 07543744146 for details. Friendly games have been arranged for this age group in the near future and takes to seventeen teams at the club backed by a flourishing development centre for children under seven years.
