Carniny Youth U10s 1 v 2 Shankill Juniors Colts
Unfortunately the wee reds came away empty-handed late on Friday night.
Carniny dealt well with a lot of early pressure from Shankill with Jay and Kai making numerous tackles and Fletcher being tested several times. Though 13 minutes in Shankill got the breakthrough, when a low driven shot through a crowded goal mouth found the net. The match remained very tight until the break with nothing between the sides.
Carniny started the second half strong with great work from midfield and pressure from Finn up front had Shankill struggling to remain ahead. Eventually the pressure paid off when a long range strike from Matt went in off the post after 3 mins. Both teams had several chances to win the match but with 10 minutes left to play a deflected shot from Shankill put them ahead. Despite Carniny’s best efforts the game remained tight and Shankill held on to take the 3 points.
