Carniny U10 3-1 Abbey Villa

SBYL – The Dub – Friday 23rd

A well contested start to the game between these 2 sides saw the first half stay tight. Alex had a couple of chances to run at the Abbey Villa defence, Connor & Harlow working hard on the wings to get those crosses in. Gary & Isaac had some work to do keeping their attacks at bay with Billy & Carter working hard in the middle to contest every ball. Nathaniel came on to add some energy going forward & after a well taken corner from Harlow, Nathaniel forced the ball past their GK to put us in the lead. Abbey Villa fought back immediately & Jake pulled out a superb save to keep our noses in front.

We asked for more energy in the 2nd half, a bigger desire to win the ball first time, and after some super work building from the back, Gary switched the ball across to Connor who setup Alex for our second goal of the game. This gave us forward momentum & Alex soon latched onto a loose ball & dropped it back to Billy who took his goal well for our third. Abbey Villa managed to pull one back late on but we remained solid & took the victory.
