Claredon 3G – SBYL
After a well-deserved weekend off, our young Reds were back in action against some local opponents in the SBYL. On a cold morning, on quite a big pitch for the lads to cover, both teams started well & cancelled each other out. Some great passing work from Connor & Carter on the wings with a few attempts from Alex & Billy up front kept ASA on their toes. Harlow was solid in midfield & provided good additional support for Gary & Isaac in defense who were so solid that it gave our Keeper Jake very little to do!!
Coming out in the 2nd half the boys knew they were the stronger team, pushing hard & not giving up on chances. Alex finally broke the deadlock with a special shot from outside the box. ASA tried to rally, but with some great work from the team, especially our defensive line, we kept them out. Connor picked himself up after hitting the post from a penalty earlier in the game to get our second goal. A superb piece of individual skill & great footwork saw his shot pass the ASA keeper’s left hand side. A tough match, our toughest this season so far but a well-deserved victory in the end.
