The Under 10s kicked off a new season in the SBYL with a well deserved 3-1 win at Clarendon. A fantastic team performance all round. Connor opened the scoring following a nice one-two with Harlow on the left flank. Good feet and strengTh got Connor free and from a tight angle he rifled home a shot into the far top corner. The boys coped v well in the 1st half and pressed Crumlin high. Billy's energy and drive on the right created several chances, Harlow, Alex, Billy all having shots. However Crumlin equalized after a low ball in the box was turned into his own net by Connor. 1-1 HT.
More positives in 2nd and Alex's hard work paid off as he put us ahead, controlling well in the box before drilling a shot into the bottom corner. Harlow assist. Coming under some Crumlin pressure, big tackles from Isaac and Nathaniel proved vital. At 2-1, Nathaniel also headed a well hit Crumlin shot clear and then GK Jake pulled off an amazing save, pushing a strike onto the post and to safety. Seth found some great positions though and could have had a hat-trick on another day. Nathaniel who stepped out of defence to win the ball several times, carried on one run and breezing past the midfield hit a great shot into the far corner to seal the win & earn MOTM.
Great game. Special shout for Sonny who worked tirelessly, doing brilliantly in his first SB game.
