Carniny U19 1-1 Wellington Rec
SBYL – Friday 15th
Carniny started the game controlling the ball well and keeping possession to try and find an early opener. The first shot of the game came from Jay who seen his effort easily saved from range. The opener came from a free kick taken by Luke just outside his own box. The ball came the direction of Nathanael who flicked it on smartly to Jack who drove forward and finished one on one with the keeper for 1-0. Carniny kept the pressure up and when looking a second, Jay plays a brilliant ball out to Ryan who takes a touch then sees his shot saved well by the keeper. A scare just before half time for Carniny as a long ball catches out the defence but Wellington Rec take too long and Carniny get the numbers back. The second half starts with Carniny still in control but struggling to find chances. The first real chance of the half came from Nathanael who drove past his man easily and ran into the box before finding his effort from a few yards out easily saved by the keeper. The game was relatively even for the remainder of the half with little chances. This was until a last second shot from Wellington Rec from outside the box flew into the top corner to equalise at 1-1. A valiant performance was cancelled out by an extremely late equaliser.
