In the only BSML Division 2 league game last weekend, Carniny ran out 3-0 winners over Randalstown at Neillsbrook.
There was little significant action at the start of this game until a Randalstown free kick into the Carniny box was cleared away for Aaron Johnston to go on a forward attack down the right hand side. His cross into the box was cleared wide by the Town defence only for Benji Agnew to collect the ball on the edge of the box, and with the goalkeeper fully committed to coming to close him down he slotted past him into the far post from an acute angle, 1-0 to the visitors. Randalstown came back at Carniny and had a few attempts on goal at the other end but were unable to convert any chances, with Adam Millar closest, with McKillop saving well. The visitors also had a couple of chances themselves with a Peacock shot dragged wide and Dean Wright seeing an header rebound off the up right. On forty mins Wright put a through ball into Peacock who was racing towards the goal, but a well timed last ditch tackle from Scott Bruce prevented him from getting his shot off. Two minutes from the break saw Lloyd White lay the ball off for Peacock just outside the box who worked himself space to send a left foot shot into the net to double Carniny's advantage at the break.
Five mins into the second half the game was disrupted with a clash of head between two players, with both forced to retire for treatment. Carniny were playing some good link up play as the game wore on but couldn't create anything in the final third, with little chances from either team. Then on 78 mins Peacock fed the ball wide to Johnston who worked his way into the box to fire the ball high into the top stanchion to make it three nil to Carniny. This killed off the game and three mins later Randalstown had a man sent off and with no further goals, the visitors saw out the game to take the three points.
