It was 3 points and a clean sheet for the Seniors at the weekend after a 4-0 win over Waveney Swifts

It was Carniny who took an early lead in this division two league match when Jake Armstrong took a quick free kick on the half way line passing out to Paul Craig on the left flank who drove on down the line and whipped in a cross which beat Swifts keeper Fulton, nestling in the top far corner of the net. Three minutes later Fulton denied Benji Agnew from a 25 yd free keep with the Swifts keeper at full stretch to tip the shot over the bar. Carniny kept the pressure on, with crosses into the box, but failed to convert. Waveney began to come into the game and had a good chance from a free kick just outside the box, but McNally struck the ball into the Carniny wall. There was little in the game as the half wore on and Shea O'Brien had a chance on the edge of the box but saw his shot tipped round the post by McKillop in the Carniny goal. Carniny went into the break with a single goal advantage.

Two minutes into the half Aaron Johnston delivered a great ball into the box to Dean Wright who uncharacteristically forced the ball over the bar. Carniny were now taking the game to Waveney and a few minutes later Armstrong sent Wright a long ball down the line, who crossed into Matthew McComb, who turned a defender and swivelled round to place the ball low into the corner of the net. Waveney were now forced to hit on the break and had a chance with a free lick from McNally, but it was hit straight into the hands of the Carniny keeper. They had a few chances from corners, but any headers were wide of the Carniny goal. On a quick turn over, McComb played the ball forward to Sean Byrne who beat his last defender and slotted past the keeper to make it three nil to Carniny. Peter Adams then made it four, as he capitalised on a Waveney player losing the ball outside the box and slotted past the keeper. Minutes later Byrne had a chance to score his second of the game with a Luis White cross finding him in the six yard box, only to see his effort go past the post. Waveney took the game to Carniny for the last few minutes of the game, but couldn't do anything with their pressure and the Carniny men ran out 4-0 winners.
