The Seniors came out on top in a game that saw 7 goals, 4 penalties and a dismissal!

CARNINY AYFC 4-3 Cullybackey Blues

This Second division match between Carniny and Cullybackey provided excellent entertainment for the neutral with seven goals, four penalties and a dismissal for the home side.
The game started at a fast pace, end to end football, with both teams having their chances at both ends. Cullybackey hit the Carniny crossbar at one end and Jay Peacock burst through at the other end, seeing his shot going narrowly wide at the other. The deadlock, however was broken by the home side with Peter Adams playing Benji Agnew in, who put the ball into the left-hand corner of the Cullybackey goal on 33 mins. Ten mins later Peacock had a second chance on another one on one but this time rounded the keeper to slot home, 2-0 Carniny, 43 mins in. Cullybackey hit straight back two mins later with Ryan McMullan scoring from close range .

Into the second half and Carniny conceded a penalty and Gary Glass stepped out of nets to convert the spot kick. Another twelve mins later and Carniny conceded another penalty and again Glass stepped up and converted to see Cullybackey take the lead. Two mins later it was Carniny's turn to be awarded a penalty and Peter Adams took the spot kick and converted to draw the game level at 3-3! Another 10 mins on and Matthew McComb crossed a ball in which hit the far post, rebounding off for Adams to score from close range, his second of the game, to give Carniny the lead. The visitors put the pressure on Carniny in the last 10 minutes of the game, and the home side had a man dismissed in the closing minutes. Just as it looked that Carniny had held on to their lead, Cullybackey were awarded their third spot kick of the game, but it was third time unlucky as Glass stepped up once again but saw his kick saved by McKillop in the Carniny goal. Carniny went on to hold out for the win and 3 points.
