In the Seniors first game of the season they found themselves up against division 2 new boys, Romania NI FC. Carniny took the lead only three mins in after some good pressing saw Sean Byrne loop a long range strike over the keeper to make it 1-0. Five minutes later they scored their second through Dean Wright. With Jay Peacock heading back across the goal for him to finish. Wright then scored his second with Pete Adams providing the delivery this time round. Ten mins later wright completed his hat trick with Benji Agnew crossing from the left flank and Wright working his way round the keeper to slot home. Romania then had a chance to reduce the deficit after being awarded a penalty and they did just that making it 4-1 at the break.
Into the second half and the away came onto the game more. They were awarded another penalty on 58 mins. But this time they failed to convert. As the game headed towards full time Peacock played in Wright for his fourth of the day and adding gloss to the score, Wright turned provider to set Peacock up for Carninys sixth goal .Ft 6-1, a winning start for the reds.
