The Seniors faced an away tie to Willowbank in the third rnd of the County Antrim Junior Shield at the weekend in what turned out to be close affair. The home side started the brightest acting Carniny right from the ko but it was the visitors who broke the deadlock on 14 mins when good work from Dean Wright on the right hand side of goal kept the ball alive to cross to Benji Agnew who made no mistake, 1-0. then on 35 mins Carniny were awarded a penalty and Wright stepped up to convert. Willowbank then hit back with 2 goals in the last 5 mins before the break to draw level.
Into the 2nd half, which was a tight affair Willowbank were awarded a penalty and McKillop was unlucky after saving the penalty with the home side pouncing on the rebound to force the ball over the line to take the lead 3-2. Wright was unlucky when after slotting well past the Bank keeper he agonisingly saw the ball bounce past the upright. Carniny were awarded another pen hoping to bring the scores even but d Wright stepped up and blasted over the bar. As Carniny chased for the elusive equaliser Willowbank hit on the break on 92 mins to put the tie to bed
