Carniny started strong and had started well when Albert foundry won a questionable free kick and scored from it, but it didn’t take long for Carniny to bounce back when Duddy cut in on to his left foot and slotted the ball into the near post. Carniny quickly slipped into gear and Ewart swung a ball in and it was well controlled by Black and then smashed home.

After the half time break Orr received the ball with his back to goal and with a fantastic turn and run, put it through the keepers’ legs. 10 mins later Black won a free kick on the edge of the box and confidently stepped up and but the ball top left with a stunning strike. Barr, who had a fantastic game, floated a ball over the top which Black took down and shot into the back of the net. It could only have got better when Duddy squared the ball across the six-yard box and Ewart scored, but it was controversially disallowed for an offside against Ewart. Absolutely great performance from all 15 players today.
