Carniny U13 2-8 1st Bangor
SBYL – Hydebank -Saturday 17th
Carniny under 13s suffered another heavy defeat to 1st Bangor Juniors at Hydebank on Saturday morning. The boys started off well and competed all across the pitch to frustrate Bangor but a fortunate rebound off the post fell to a Bangor forward and he put the ball into an empty net. The second came shortly afterwards following a poor clearance and a well-struck shot left Vlad no chance in goal. Ben and John were battling hard in defence, but the Bangor forwards were moving the ball well. The score was 2-0 at half time and Carniny were well in the game with Robbie keeping the Bangor defence on its toes. The second half got off to a disastrous start with Bangor scoring four goals in ten minutes early in the half to leave Carniny stunned. Following changes Jake went up front to add pace to the attack and immediately scored with a well-taken breakaway goal. He followed up soon after with a high ball into the box which beat the keeper and sailed into the net. Carniny had got back into the game, but any hope of a comeback was snuffed out by two late goals for Bangor to leave the final score 8-2.
