Carniny under 13s lost 4-0 to Ards Rangers at Mallusk on Saturday morning. The boys got off to a strong start and competed well against a good Ards side. There was very little Oliver could do to prevent Ards scoring from a well-struck shot from outside the area. Carniny continued to battle across the pitch with Robbie setting a great example in a battling man of the match performance. Leo had a chance to score after a good spell of play, but his shot was straight at the keeper. At half-time the score was 1-0 to Ards.
The second half started in a similar way, but Ards were able to score a second from inside the area despite protests about an offside. Carniny were struggling to contain Ards and Vlad who had gone into nets a half-time, made several good saves. Ards added two more as Carniny faded. Vlad also saved a penalty and the match ended 4-0 to Ards.
