UNDER STRENGTH 13s LOSE OUT ON FRIDAY NIGHT

Carniny under 13s lost out to St. Oliver Plunketts Cosmos on Friday night at the Blanchflower stadium.

The team were missing several players from their strongest eleven and went behind early on. The players appeared hesitant against a lively Plunket’s side. The boys were pinned in their own half for most of the first thirty minutes and created very little going forward despite the willing running of Robbie and Leo. Oliver also had a good game in nets despite the half time score of 7-0.
The second half was a much more even affair with Carniny coming out with a positive attitude despite the scoreline. Jake got a goal back with a powerful strike which flew into the roof of the net. Leo also chipped the keeper for a lovely second but Plunket’s were still dangerous and also scored twice in that half to leave the final score 9-2.
