The boys were slow to start and Aquinas scored an early goal following a defensive mistake. Robbie Montgomery scored an equalizer with a neatly taken shot past the keeper. He put Carniny ahead with a header from a corner and the score was 2-1 to Carniny at half time.

The boys made a better start to the second half and went 3-1 up through Leo Harris. Robbie Montgomery, Leo Harris and Jake McCosh added further goals along with an Aquinas own goal to make the final score 7-1.
