In the sweltering heat of recent times all the Carniny teams and departments from the youngest to the oldest are preparing for the start of the clubs 23rd season in youth football.

Highlights of the week were the senior sides 3-0 opening league fixture against Waveney Swifts to get them off to a good start. The 10s celebrated being ‘team of the month’ for August to recognize the hard work rebuilding by their staff in recent times.

The two girls’ teams at under 13 and under 11 continue to expand and both will be competing in league football this year so new female additions born in 2010,2011,2012 and 2013 are welcome. Anyone interested should contact team reps for details.

Finally, the clubs renowned football development centre will be getting underway on 17th September so check press/social media for details.

CLUB RECRUITMENT

The club are always on the lookout for new talented players at all age groups and anyone interested should contact any of the coaches as listed. A new age group (U19’s) for those born in 2004/2005 is being formed and anyone who thinks they are good enough to play in this team should contact Billy O’Flaherty on 07850669666 for details.

PRESEASON

The U9’s continued their preseason with a trip to Castledawson on Friday night to play Moyola FC. The boys left with a win and a defeat with the team experimenting with different formations. The U8’s played their first games, hosting Glen’s Utd and the U9 Development Team also on Friday night. The U8 and U9 will play each other again on Friday 19th at Carnhill.

VETERANS FOOTBALL COMPETITION

Carniny Amateur & Youth FC are holding an indoor football festival at the Sports Hut in Ballymena on Saturday morning, 27th August, 2022 in association with the Irish Football Association.
