The Carniny 'senior' team achieving promotion to the 1st division following a 3-2 home victory over Waveney Swifts was undoubtedly the highlight not only of the week but the season for this young side! Well done to Paul and his coaching staff and all the players for getting the team back into the top division. Of the remaining teams playing over the weekend both the 14s and 15s games were unfortunately abandoned when a serious injury to an opposing player of the 14s caused the game to come to an end whilst a freak downpour of hailstones left the referee with no choice in the 15s game than to abandon the game as most of N.Ireland was drenched in sunshine! The FDC finishes this Saturday at St Louis Grammar School, and most teams will continue with friendly games up until the end of May whilst the 14s look forward as do the Senior team to cup finals.

END OF SEASON FUNCTIONS

Preparations are also underway with the club's committee, as they look to organise the end of season functions for all the age groups throughout the club, and with almost 400 members at the club takes quite a bit of time for all concerned.

Young people born in 2017 are invited to trial at Carniny and should contact Steven Craig on 07860101476 for details of summer dates. All the clubs’ teams will be inviting trialists over the summer to come along and have a go!

Next seasons Football Development Centre will also be extending by a year and will include kids born in 2020 to join those born in 2019 and 2018 so keep an eye on developments.
