It was the turn of the clubs’ older teams to shine this week starting with the senior team who eventually saw off Cullybackey Blues despite conceding three penalties to win 4-3. The 19s saw off Portrush FC 2-1, coming back from a goal down with the winner coming from a McClintock strike late on. The improving 17s beat Aquinas up in Belfast 3-2 as the 15s drew with Crusaders Strikers 1-1. The 14s, 13s and 10s Youth all lost whilst the 10s Amateurs and Colts both drew.

The girls’ section at the club continues to flourish with teams from 10 years to 14 years with further expansion planned and new girls always welcome so contact is encouraged with any member of staff for details.

The clubs Football Development Centre held its penultimate week at Ballymena Showgrounds and will close this Saturday morning at St Louis G.S before resuming in early February 2024.

FESTIVE CHARITY GAME PLANNED

It is hoped the club will be able to resurrect the usual festive 'charity' game following Covid with a game between Parents and Coaching staff followed by refreshments with details to follow soon so those interested in taking part, now may be the time to get a bit fitter if interested in taking part!!

WOMEN'S INTERNATIONAL GAME

The woman’s international game between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland on 5th December 2023 at the National Stadium is to be attended by a good section from the club and in particular the female section as the club attend ALL International games, male and female!

GALGORM RESORT CLUBPERSON OF THE MONTH

The November award goes to Paula McQuillan who is a recent addition to the club committee and a hard-working member with two children at the club. Well done Paula and thanks for your hard work which is much appreciated.

McDONALDS November ‘TEAM OF THE MONTH’

The winners of the McDonalds Restaurant ‘TEAM OF THE MONTH’ for November goes to the Carniny Girls Under 14s who have only recently formed and are playing in the South Belfast League so are a team worth joining if you want to play football. The team train twice a week and are well sponsored. Contact Joanne Lennox for details if born in 2010 or 2011.

DEVELOPMENT UNDER 19 TEAM TRIALS OFFERED

The club are offering trials to any male player born in the year 2005 or 2006 to play in this seasons under 19 South Belfast League team. Any prospective player would be joining an already successful team as it won two cup competitions last season and one the year before! The team are specially looking for a goalkeeper born within this age group, so anyone interested please apply.

25th ANNIVERSARY IN PLANNING STAGE

At the clubs monthly meeting last week, it was discussed how to celebrate the approaching 25th anniversary of the club. It is hoped to form a specific committee to organize several events leading up to the actual 25 year mark and it is hoped that members of the club from the past and present will be involved culminating in a Gala Ball at The Great Hall, Galgorm Resort, Ballymena in spring 2025.
