Carniny Under 8s held the clubs end of season function at the Sports Hut in Cullybackey on Saturday with special guest Ballymena United player Caolan Loughran who gave out the awards on the day. Carniny have produced many young players who have progressed into ‘senior’ football at a higher-level including Matt Shevlin, Rodney Brown and Josh Carson at Coleraine FC, Stewart Nixon at Carrick Rangers, Leroy Millar at Larne FC and Cameron Stewart at Ipswich Town FC.

The club will not rest completely over the summer and are currently preparing for various competitions including the Foyle Cup in the Northwest in July with their Under 10s and 17s. Recruiting is ongoing and interested players are invited to contact the respective team coaches for details. Keep an eye on the social media channels for updates on open day training sessions.

VETERANS FOOTBALL

In association with the Irish Football Association the club will be holding a veteran’s football tournant up at Carnhill over the summer for players of 45+ born on or before 1977. Anyone interested in entering a six a side team played on grass should contact Billy O’Flaherty on 07850669666.

FOYLE CUP TRIALS

The clubs under 17 team (players born in 2005) have entered the Foyle Cup competition played in the northwest at the end of July. They are looking to strengthen their team and are offering trials to prospective players who consider themselves good enough to play at this level.
